This postcard of Duimelijntje is inspired by the beloved fairytale Thumbelina by Hans Christian Andersen, the Danish storyteller who gave the world some of its most treasured tales.

In this illustration, little Duimelijntje sits upon a lily pad in the middle of the shimmering pond, looking up as a gentle yellow butterfly lifts her away to safety while the golden fish below help free her from the water reeds. Around her bloom pale water lilies and glimmers of light dance upon the water.
