A fairytale postcard from Iris Esther - Cinderella

Before the carriage, the ball and the glass slipper, there was a girl sitting quietly by the fire.

Inspired by the old fairy tale of Cinderella, this postcard captures a quieter part of her story. Surrounded by the birds who come to her aid, she sits beside the kitchen hearth sorting lentils — still unaware of all the magic that is waiting just beyond this ordinary moment.

It is this part of fairy tales that I have always loved most: not only the grand transformations and happily-ever-afters, but the small moments before them. The old kitchen, the warmth of the fire, birds fluttering through an open window and the possibility that something wonderful might be about to happen.

A nostalgic illustrated postcard for fairy-tale lovers, to send to someone special, display on a seasonal table, frame as a tiny piece of art or simply add to your collection.
